The Egyptian Museum – one of Barcelona’s most popular attractions – is hosting special events on Friday and Saturday evenings until October 31st.

Between 9pm and 11pm, history enthusiasts can watch the museum come to life as part of a dramatized exhibition.

According to Barcelona Tourism, it is an original initiative that enables visitors to take a more in-depth look at ancient Egyptian civilisation.

“Every Friday night you will travel through time to ancient Egypt to try the culinary art during the time of the pharaohs and every Saturday night you will be able to discover the temporary exhibition Esquelets malalts (Sick Skeletons) with the young scientist Aranu Eixerit, who will open the doors of his laboratory for you,” the organization noted.

Those hoping to attend one of the evenings are required to make their booking in advance.

The museum is also home to several interesting permanent collections, as well as a new section which gives visitors the opportunity to browse the online catalogue of the Jordi Clos Library and a gift store featuring more than 1,100 Egypt-related books and souvenirs.
