Harrisburg School District announced plans to partner with a school in Cairo, Egypt, for an online learning pilot program this fall.
The program, called Connected Learning Communities, will partner with the Dr. Nermien American International School to provide a global education program. The pilot program will include 25 students from SciTech High School, 500 students from Ben Franklin School and 10 students from Harrisburg Academy, a private school in East Pennsboro Township.
Several students have already begun using the program this summer, said district spokeswoman Lisa Paige. Funding will be provided by public and private donations to the Harrisburg Public School Foundation, she said.
